intelligent body.

I look into the spirituality of the body and approach teaching holistically.

Organic Movement is a strategy i found to create an inclusive method that supports the different elements of my practice. As to movement background I've practiced capoeira (brazilian martial art), contemporary dance, urban dances, and recently became very inspired with 'Amerta Movement' which I had to chance to study with it's founder Suprapto Suryadarmo, in Indonesia. I also reference my practice to the 'Ido Portal Method' from whom I had intensive training and i integrate it in terms of a generalistic approach to movement.

Organic Movement is a movement practice where i explore natural body patterns, of the body and it's relationship with mobility, strength and fluidity - into developing more self-awareness, self-control and more freedom. The difference between this practice and other movement practices is that I constantly create and reshape improvisational situations inside the same practice.

Through specific exercises, games and improvisation we are constantly mapping our bodies towards identifying our personal habits, activating unvisited qualities, and specially exposing vulnerable spots that we would like to integrate more to become strength. From working with circles, waves and spirals for example, we try to investigate how mind and body works. To gain understanding through experiencing physiological changes - to notice how it effects our perception. Along with individual, partnering and group dynamics we turn our eyes out to practice our connection with our environment. In this practice inspired by 'Amerta' we don't analyse too much, rather stay close to heart, to soften our ego and sense more harmony with space.

Mostly important Organic Movement is a space where the practioner takes responsibility in working with their environment and their self-development. Embodying their questions, sharing when needed. So to preserve the relation between practice and life.

I arrived at this new approach after not feeling so satisfied anymore with the way i was teaching. By freeing myself from previous ways of thinking movement, and reconnecting to the innocence of my body. In this process i'm still creating concepts, but becoming able to offer a space to reflect the body more organic and holistically.

What makes this practice unique is that it allows the conversation between different elements such as breathing, slow motion or moving in the music or without - offering us the opportunity to transcend our physicality and to honor our capability to play and change our mind through movement. My students often tell me that every class is a journey of self-discovery and that it has had, besides physical changes, an impact in their self-realization.
